Today in History: The Beatles break up in 1970

Today in History: The Beatles break up in 1970

John Lennon had already (privately) informed the other Beatles members in September 1969 that he was leaving the group, the official public acknowledgement of the band’s break-up did not come until on April 10, 1970 when Paul McCartney proclaimed he was leaving The Beatles. McCartney’s announcement came a week before the release of his debut solo album to start a solo career. In their ten years of existence, the British rock group became one of the most successful bands of all time, selling over a billion albums, according to EMI.

The poster will be offered in our April 29 auction. For inquiries, email posterconnection@gmail.com.
